A Hard Reg Cafè to discover the new ISO standard for innovation management

Roser Montserrat,

The latest edition of the Hard Reg Café, promoted by Catalonia.health, focused on innovation, specifically on the new ISO 56001:2024 standard for Innovation Management Systems. The session was organised in collaboration with INGECAL and AENOR, and sold out all available places. Anna Riera, from the Internal Innovation Committee, was in charge of presenting and opening the session.

The session was promoted by Catalonia.health, through the Internal  Innovation Committee, and was designed to inform both experts in this certification, as well as those who want to find out if it could be a good opportunity for their company or organisation. Experts were on hand to share their knowledge and support with the attendees: Evaristo Gutiérrez, CEO and  founder of INGECAL, with more than 20 years of experience in consultancy and auditing of innovation systems; and Malvido Gerardo, expert from AENOR's  R+D+I unit, who contributes to technical standards and certification schemes throughout Europe.

ISO 56001:2024 (formerly UNE 166002) is an international standard that establishes the requirements for the implementation and improvement of an innovation management system within an organisation. It provides a structured framework for fostering an innovative culture, managing ideas and transforming them into real value, while integrating processes that ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of innovation. This standard helps organisations to become more competitive by systematising innovation and aligning it with their strategic objectives.

After an informative session, the participants took part in a practical workshop to define and reflect on the culture of innovation in real organisations. As usual, the event ended with coffee and networking, connecting the participants, united by a shared interest in innovation. Sessions like the Hard Reg Café create a space for meaningful dialogue on regulation, innovation and strategic growth.
