The HIPRA group, member of Catalonia.health, closed the 2025 financial year with a turnover of 516 million euros and a net profit of 53.9 million euros. The turnover represents an increase of 17% compared to the previous year and represents the highest annual turnover achieved by the group to date, consolidating its trajectory of growth and international expansion. EBITDA stood at 125.2 million euros, and the group reduced its net debt by 12.3 million euros, to 145.5 million, equivalent to 1.16 times EBITDA.
David Maldonado, financial executive director of HIPRA, has highlighted that in 2025 the company has surpassed the 500 million barriers for the first time, a figure that reaffirms the model based on prevention and innovation.
Investment in R&D and inauguration of the HIPRA Campus
During 2025, HIPRA has allocated more than 62 million euros to R&D, equivalent to nearly 12% of its annual turnover. Adding investments in infrastructure and production capacity, the company's total investment effort has exceeded 93 million euros (18% of turnover), consolidating a trajectory that brings the accumulated investment in R&D since 2019 to 400 million euros.
The year has been particularly significant for the inauguration of the HIPRA Campus in Aiguaviva, which complements the Amer headquarters, both in Girona. The new facilities, with a total planned investment of 550 million euros and which are moving towards Phase 2, aim to position the company as a biotechnological hub of reference in Europe.
Human Health: new advances in vaccines and strategic autonomy
The Human Health area, created in 2020 with the start of the development of the vaccine against COVID-19, has reached new milestones in its consolidation process in 2025. One of the most relevant has been the adaptation, registration and manufacture of BIMERVAX® against the new circulating variant of COVID-19, to subsequently sign a joint procurement agreement (Joint Procurement Agreement, JPA) with the European Union. Nine countries have acquired doses of the HIPRA vaccine by 2025, with Spain being the country that has obtained and administered the most.
In September 2025, HIPRA launched SPEEDCELL, a four-year project co-funded by the EU to accelerate the development and production of biological products and enable rapid response to health emergencies, in line with the EU's "100 Day Mission". Added to this project is the launch of HIPRA Biotech Services (HBS), the new business unit specialized in development and manufacturing services for third parties (CDMO), which in its first months of activity has already signed two contracts with European companies.
Carles Fàbrega, general director of the Human Health area, pointed out that the progress achieved during 2025 reinforces confidence in the Human Health project and stressed that the results obtained confirm that the company is moving in the right direction, building capabilities and long-term positioning.
Animal Health: 14.3% growth and expansion in the United States
The Animal Health area closes 2025 with a 14.3% increase in sales compared to 2024, with 88% of sales on an international scale and Europe as the main market. In global terms, the area has achieved a market share of approximately 7.4% for range animals. Pigs, poultry and ruminants represent 94% of the business volume of the animal area.
David Caballero, general manager of the Animal Health area and global head of Business in 2025, has described the year as excellent in sales and has pointed out that, with a pipeline of more than 25 projects in development, the company will continue to strengthen its investment in innovation, prevention and innovative services for veterinarians and farms.
Institutional recognitions in 2026
In the first months of 2026, HIPRA has been recognized on two occasions: the Ministry of Industry has awarded it the 'Bien Hecho en España' award for its contribution to strategic autonomy, and it has obtained the 'Excellent' category in the Profarma 2025-26 program, which places HIPRA among the top ten companies in the sector in terms of industrial capacity, R+D+i activity, public-private collaboration, creation of quality employment, improvement of exports and efforts in social responsibility and ecological transition.
