Comunicació,

The biotechnology company Gate2Brain, a member of Catalonia.health, has announced a strategic alliance with Shilpa Biocare Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Shilpa Medicare Limited, which includes an investment of 7 million euros and a 30.4% stake in the company. This is the largest investment raised by Gate2Brain since its foundation in 2020 and consolidates the growth achieved in less than six years of activity.

A boost for G2B-002 and the technology platform

The centerpiece of the collaboration is G2B-002, Gate2Brain's most advanced program and a first-in-class therapeutic candidate for aggressive pediatric and adult brain tumors, which has Orphan Drug Designation from both the FDA and the EMA. G2B-002 is based on MiniAp4, Gate2Brain's proprietary technology designed to facilitate therapeutics crossing the blood-brain barrier. Preclinical studies have shown improved transport of treatments to the brain and reduced side effects in pediatric brain tumor models.

The alliance combines Gate2Brain's technology with Shilpa's expertise in manufacturing, CMC development and regulatory strategy, with the goal of accelerating the clinical development of G2B-002 and expanding the potential of the platform into new therapeutic areas and applications in diseases of the central nervous system.

Dr. Meritxell Teixidó, CEO and CSO of Gate2Brain, wanted to highlight the continued support of the company's institutional partners, external advisors, investors and business angels, and emphasized that their trust and commitment have been fundamental to the development of Gate2Brain and its technological platform.
