Catalonia.health took part in the first Future Skills Observatory Workshop of the BRIGHTskills project, held on 29 June at IESE Business School in Barcelona. Roser Alba, Project Coordinator at Catalonia.health, represented the association at the session, which brought together representatives from across Europe's health industry ecosystem, including professionals from the pharmaceutical, biomanufacturing, MedTech, digital health and medical supplies sectors, alongside academic partners.

The workshop, facilitated by Natalie Walsh, from the University of Galway, used futures thinking and speculative thinking methodologies to explore how the health industry workforce might evo

lve by 2045. Participants analysed emerging trends, tested disruptive scenarios and reflected on the occupations, skills and capabilities that the sector will need in an increasingly uncertain world.

The insights gathered will feed into the BRIGHTskills Future Skills Observatory, a European initiative aimed at anticipating workforce needs and supporting the development of a future-ready health industry across the continent.

BRIGHTskills is an EU-funded project that brings together partners from industry, academia and cluster organisations to map future skills needs in the health sector.
