Barcelona, ​​July 23, 2025 – As a partner of the European project RISEMED4EU (Regional Innovation for Smart Ecosystems in Health and Medicine in the EU), Catalonia.health has organized the third semester stakeholder meeting, held online.

One project, eight regions, a shared agenda

RISEMED4EU is an Interreg Europe initiative that brings together eight regions of eight European countries with the aim of improving the implementation of regional development policies in the field of research and innovation in medical technology and health. As a partner of the consortium, Catalonia.health coordinates the Catalan participation in this project.

Meetings with stakeholders are a central part of the project: each region meets periodically with the agents of its ecosystem to collect input and transfer it to the European consortium, contributing to global conclusions that reflect the diversity of contexts, regional realities and allow us to identify good practices.

Objectives of the session

The meeting had two main axes. On the one hand, sharing the results of studies from the previous semesters: the analysis on open innovation ecosystems and the current regional situation (Semester 1), and the study on incentives for global impact (Semester 2).

On the other hand, contribute to and debate the theme of the third semester: artificial intelligence and ICT tools as technologies that drive policies, projects and funding. The conclusions of this debate will be shared with those of the other regions and will contribute to this semester's study, which will be available on the project's website.

A network that connects European ecosystems

RISEMED4EU is an Interreg Europe project that brings together political authorities, government entities, industry leaders and high-level knowledge institutions with the aim of strengthening innovation in diagnostics and personalized medicine across Europe. Catalonia.health's participation in this network strengthens the positioning of the Catalan health and life sciences ecosystem in the international arena and facilitates the exchange of good practices between European regions.
