Marta Herrera,

Catalonia.health welcomed a visit this December from an institutional and business delegation from Malaysia's health sector, interested in gaining first-hand knowledge of the Catalan medtech ecosystem and the know-how of the country's health innovation companies and institutions.

The meeting, which included the participation of Arantxa Sanz, CEO of Catalonia.health, and Carlos Navarrete, Business Developer at the organisation, brought together high-level representatives from MRANTI (Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation), the Malaysian Ministry of Health, MRIC Healthcare, and leading sector companies such as Formedic and Waterbay.

During the working session, the Catalonia.health team shared with the delegation the capabilities and strengths of Catalonia's health innovation ecosystem, highlighting the medtech business fabric and the collaboration opportunities that Catalonia offers as a health innovation hub in Europe.

Catalonia, international benchmark in medtech innovation

This visit reinforces Catalonia.health's role as the authoritative voice for Catalonia's health sector on the international stage and underscores the growing relevance of the Catalan medtech ecosystem as a pole of attraction for international investors, companies and institutions.

"Welcoming international delegations such as Malaysia's is a testament to the strength and appeal of our health innovation ecosystem. These international connections not only expand collaboration and business opportunities for our companies, but also contribute to positioning Catalonia as a global benchmark in medtech", highlighted Arantxa Sanz.

The visit of the Malaysian delegation is part of Catalonia.health's commitment to boosting the international visibility of the Catalan health innovation hub, thereby improving its competitiveness and innovative capacity. Connection with international ecosystems facilitates the exchange of best practices, access to new markets and the development of partnerships that accelerate knowledge and technology transfer.

Initiatives such as this meeting with Malaysia contribute to highlighting the sector's contribution to the Catalan economy and opening new avenues for international growth for companies in the region.
