CATALONIA.HEALTH has repeated its collaboration with Tech Spirit Barcelona, the annual event promoted by Tech Barcelona, which showcases the city's up-and-coming technology scene. This year's edition once again brought together medical professionals, health technologists, pharmaceutical leaders and entrepreneurs in a dynamic convergence of innovators who are redefining the landscape of healthcare delivery and accessibility, demonstrating the drive for change in the future of healthcare.
On this occasion, CATALONIA.HEALTH promoted one of the 10 proposals presented at the Tech Spirit Barcelona Health Edition 2025 programme, held on 20 February at the Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona. It was with a round table, organised by the association's Internal Digital Committee which, under the title ‘Avenues in telemedicine’, discussed the main challenges of this care model, which is already transforming health care and which, in the very near future, will form part of our day-to-day life. Nuria Abdón Giménez (Fundació Tic Salut), Jesús Caballero (Hospital Arnau de Vilanova, Lleida), and Xavier Escayola (Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona) participated, moderated by Xavier Garcia (BetterCare).
One of the aspects most highlighted in the debate was the use and processing of data, which offers enormous potential and represents the future of medicine but raises major challenges such as the need to work on quality, privacy, interoperability and an adaptation of governance if we are to be able to ensure that it is used safely and efficiently.
In the 2024 edition, CATALONIA.HEALTH already promoted a panel to debate the ‘Applications of AI and the evaluation of health models’ and it has been a long time since digital health is a segment that is gaining weight in CATALONIA.HEALTH.
