CataloniaBio & HealthTech evolves into CATALONIA.HEALTH to become a reference in the business and innovative health sector

CATALONIA.HEALTH is the name CataloniaBio & HealthTech is taking on from now on. New brand and new logo to reflect the dimension that the association has acquired since its inception. The new slogan highlights the concepts of Science, Innovation, Business, three axes that identify the group of actors that make up the community chaired by Mariona Serra and directed by Javier Selva.

The new brand is presented today in society after being unveiled internally last Thursday in front of the 600 attendees at the now traditional BBQ organised by the association, the sector's consolidated summer event, open to all the agents of the ecosystem.

“The composition of the association has evolved a lot over the years and we realised that our name no longer conveyed what we are, the most diverse and transversal community in the health sector, where all the innovative and entrepreneurial agents, as well as the new actors in the value chain, have a place”, explains Javier Selva, CEO of CATALONIA.HEALTH. The board of directors, led by the association's communications manager, set out to create a new brand that would represent the current diversity of the association, a simple brand that would speak for itself and incorporate all aspects of the health and life sciences industry sector in Catalonia. “We bring science to innovation and the market. CATALONIA.HEALTH represents all the agents in the sector and the new logo, the integration and synergies that are created and created between them,” Selva said.

The two intertwined chain beads that make up the new image of CATALONIA.HEALTH create the allegory of the C of Catalonia and the H of Health, and at the same time represent the values and objectives of the association: cohesion, impact, transversality, excellence, focus, community, authenticity and inclusiveness. Both the logo and the new name of the organisation symbolise the growth strategy that the association proposes for the whole of the health ecosystem in Catalonia, promoting its competitiveness through innovation, to generate new health solutions and anticipating future opportunities to create new business models.

CATALONIA.HEALTH goes beyond the concept of an association, hub or cluster because of the diversity of actors that form part of it, because of the interactions and synergies that it promotes, because it encourages research and innovation and accompanies it in its transition to the market, and also because it values and cares for the companies that make up the cluster. Its strategy has been key in positioning Barcelona and Catalonia as the main health hub in southern Europe and the second best European location for investment in biotechnology, behind only the metropolitan region of London and well ahead of the Swiss hubs of Berlin and Paris. In addition, CATALONIA.HEALTH prepares an annual study on investment in the health sector in Catalonia, in which it has incorporated in this year's edition detailed analyses of the fiscal panorama and the incentives for research, development and innovation in force in the Catalan territory, issues of extreme importance for the ‘health’ of companies.
