Eurecat, Hospital Clínic and the TIC Salut Social Foundation are hosting the fourth edition of XPatient Barcelona, the benchmark congress on changing the healthcare model to empower patients, on 17 and 18 September in Barcelona.
The welcome speech will be given by Dr Joan Escarrabill, director of the Chronic Care Programme at Hospital Clínic, Dr Felip Miralles, director of the eHealth R&D Unit at Eurecat, and Dr Josuè Sallent, director of the TIC Salut Social Foundation.
The first day of the congress will feature two seminars on managing technology and innovation and assessing patient experience, plus the debate Challenges, barriers, synergies and success stories in the technology innovation ecosystem in healthcare with Melqui Calzado, secretary general of CataloniaBio & HealthTech; Maite Fibla, co-director of the Impact Investment Department at Ship2B; Cristian Pascual, CEO of Mediktor and president of Barcelona Health Hub; Jordi Naval, CEO of Biocat; and Cristina Bescos, managing director of EIT Health Spain. There will also be a presentation on new business models in healthcare technology, by Josep Lluís Falcó, CEO of Genesis Biomed.
Day two of the congress will also include the conference Transforming the daily lives of chronic patients. Redesigning the experience of pain and shortness of breath by Lekshmy Parameswaran, co-founder of The Care Lab. Then there will be a presentation entitled 12 initiatives that improve patient experience, including the noteworthy solution WIVI to detect and treat visual dysfunctions with artificial intelligence and gamification developed by start-up E-Health Technical Solutions founded by Eva Garcia and Juan Carlos Ondategui.
