CataloniaBio & HealthTech organize the third CEO Council session of the year, where Vanessa Servera, CEO of the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF), will participate as a special guest of this CEO Council.  

Vanessa Servera i Planas is the CEO of the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF), an entity to which she has been linked for more than 20 years. During this time, Servera has accumulated experience in the analysis and granting of financing to companies and has managed internal aspects of the ICF related to its finances, the technological field and relations with the European public banking. She has also coordinated strategic projects such as digital transformation, legal homologation and the migration of computer systems, among others  

Born in Tarragona in 1976, Vanessa Servera i Planas holds a degree in Physics from the University of Barcelona (UB) and a master's degree in finance from the Institute of Financial Studies (IEF). She has a postgraduate degree in Prevention, Restructuring and Bankruptcy Proceedings from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), the General Management Programme from IESE and the Executive Program in Strategy & Operations from the Stanford Business School. She has obtained the FRM certification in the field of financial risks from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP)  

Servera started at ICF as a financial analyst (2001-2004), continued as Head of Credit Investments (2004-2008) and finally became its Finance Director (2008-2009). After a 2-year hiatus as General Director of Finance and Risk at the Official Credit Institute (ICO), she rejoined the ICF as Director of Finance, Control, Operations and Processes (2012-2017). And since April 2017 and until her appointment as CEO in January 2023, she was the General Director of Finance and Operations. 

In the field of teaching, she is currently a professor on the International Banking Master's programme at the Barcelona Business School, where she teaches on Digital Banking, and has taught banking professionals on Financial Risks, Value at Risk, and Customer Analysis in Corporate Banking in various courses and master's programmes.
