This week, months of work took shape in front of everyone. Catalonia.health, together with the other members of the AYRA Consortium, presented Phase 2 of the project at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu, in an event that brought together all the agents involved and highlighted what it really means to work as a team.
A project that gives meaning to what we do
From Catalonia.health we strongly support this initiative because it reflects the values that represent our association: rigorous research, applied technology and real impact on people's lives. In this case, in the lives of children and the families who care for them every day.
AYRA starts from a clear premise: the home environment has a direct impact on children's health, especially in boys and girls with chronic respiratory pathologies. Air quality, temperature, humidity or the presence of pollutants in the home are not secondary factors, but clinical determinants that, until now, often remained outside the healthcare radar.
From research to the hands of families
Phase 2 of the project takes a decisive step in this direction: it develops a mobile app that will allow families to view the environmental data of their surroundings in real time, receive personalized alerts and actively contribute to the clinical monitoring of the patient. All supported by artificial intelligence models that correlate home conditions with clinical evolution and generate individualized predictions.
A consortium that adds up
The project is possible thanks to the sum of six complementary agents: Kid's Cluster, which coordinates the project, Sant Joan de Déu Hospital as a reference for clinical validation, and The Left Bit, Domestic Data Streamers and PUMBA in technological development, with Catalonia.health as an ecosystem and dissemination agent.
We also want to give a special thanks to Barcelona Creativity Design (BCD) for their contribution to Phase 1, which has been the foundation on which we now build.
The AYRA project is possible thanks to the financing of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through the Agrupaciones Empresariales Innovadoras program.
A milestone, not a starting point
The presentation event was not a start. It was the realization that months of work, collaboration and mutual trust are paying off. And an invitation to continue.
In the coming days we will share more details about the progress and results of the project.
