Vitalera joins Google.org as an ally for a new oncology with AI

Carla Archs,

Vitalera, formerly HumanITcare, member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, is taking a qualitative leap by adding new allies that will contribute to scaling and projecting its digital solutions, with the United States as its focus.

With the support of Google.org, which will invest around 200,000 euros in the startup through its GrowAI social impact program, Vitalera will participate in the development of an artificial intelligence program focused on improving the monitoring of cancer patients.

The project places special emphasis on the monitoring of digital biomarkers for chronic diseases such as cardiology, pulmonology, and diabetes, and especially oncology, to democratize access to gene therapies. This allows for cost savings and improved quality of life for the patient from the comfort of their own home.

The initiative will allow patients to access personalized health plans through an intuitive app that collects patient data, analyzes it in minutes, and creates smart alerts to prevent relapses in treatment.

"We provide the doctor with very valuable information to anticipate the relapses of cancer patients and be able to care for them without having to strain the healthcare system," says Nuria Pastor, CEO and founder of Vitalera. "It is necessary to understand the particularities of cancer patients. Our technology provides the doctor with very valuable information to anticipate these relapse episodes that can occur abruptly."
