Onalabs closes its first funding round with 1.2 million euros

The biotechnology company Onalabs, a member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, has closed its first round of financing, raising 1.2 million euros. The company, dedicated to the development of medical devices capable of monitoring the physical and biochemical parameters of the skin, has carried out the round through the crowdfunding platform Capital Cell, also a member.

The company, co-founded by Elisabet del Valle (CEO) and Xavi Muñoz (CSO), will dedicate these financial resources to continuing the technological development  and certification of its medical devices. These are measuring devices focused on monitoring chronic patients, athletes, and people with type I and II diabetes.

In addition to the closing of the round, Onalabs has signed an agreement with Andorra  Recerca + Innovació to start a pilot programme with the aim of initiating a clinical trial for remote monitoring of the physical and biochemical parameters of the elderly and chronically ill.
