The Biostatistics Unit has recently joined the technologies and services offered by the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), members of CataloniaBio & HealthTech. 

The unit is made up of a team of statisticians and mathematicians who carry out and support biomedical research mainly at the Can Ruti Campus, but also with other public or private entities. 

The unit's mission is to promote excellence in the use of statistical methodology in biomedical research. Its objectives are to advise and collaborate with research teams throughout the research process: design and statistical analysis, as well as support in the publication of results; research in statistics and applied methodology to improve and enhance biomedical research; the training of research staff in methodology and statistics in the field of biomedical research. 

The head of the platform, Cristian Tebé Cordomí, comments that "having a biostatistics platform in a research institute is important to ensure adequate data analysis, robust experimental design, evidence-based decision-making, the validation of results and an effective scientific dissemination. It improves the quality and reliability of research and contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge".
