The European authority HERA visits HIPRA for its productive capacity in the face of future pandemics

Roser Montserrat,

HIPRAmember of CataloniaBio & HealthTechwas visited by a team from HERA (Health Emergency Preparedness and Response) management department, the European Commission authority that strives to prevent, detect and respond quickly to health emergencies in the European Union.

HERA has visited the latest generation HIPRA facilities. These facilities integrate all stages of the process, from Research and Development (R&D), industrial scaling, production, registration, packaging, conditioning and logistics in a single production center, being one of the singularities of HIPRA as a company. R&D teams work with more than 300 different pathogens, some of which are listed as risk pathogens for future pandemics.

During the day, moreover, HIPRA’s facilities have been visited for the EU-FAB project, funded by HERA and of which HIPRA is one of only four strategic partners.

The fact that HIPRA is part of the EU FAB project is a sign of the company’s commitment to global health and prevention, contributing to strengthening European Strategic Autonomy in a key area such as health, allowing Europe to be more prepared and to have more capacity to respond in health emergency situations.
