Companies participate for the first time at Science Week 2021

Comunicació,

Bringing science and technology closer to the public and encouraging scientific vocations among the youngest have been the two main objectives of Science Week in Catalonia since it started 26 years ago. After all this years, it will be the first time that companies  will participate with activities, and they will do so with the help of  CataloniaBio & HealthTech, with the members Ferrer and the Blood and Tissue  Bank.

The 2021 edition of the Science Week was presented this morning at an institutional event in the Parliament of Catalonia. "This participation is an opportunity to project companies in the sector to society and highlight the science and innovation that is made, one of the main focal points of the current strategic plan," says Judit  Anido, General Director of CataloniaBio & HealthTech.

The central theme of this Science Week is sustainability. Along these lines, Ferrer  will open the doors of its headquarters at Illa, in Barcelona, recently opened and designed in terms of sustainability; you can also visit  the company’s logistics centre in Sant Feliu de Buixalleu, based on sustainable architecture. Ferrer is an exemplary company in the field of sustainability, a pioneer in the pharmaceutical sector in implementing its values as part of its corporate strategy under the motto "Ferrer for Good". And this Saturday, November 13, the Blood Bank also offers guided  tours of the Poblenou headquarters, with a workshop  focused on the regeneration of human tissue.

Science Week is organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, with the support of the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat and the collaboration of Fundació “la Caixa”, Amgen and BBVA.
