The pharmaceutical company Gebro Pharma and the start-up HumanITcare have signed an agreement for the entry of the pharmaceutical company into the telemedicine sector, specifically in the monitoring of asthma patients. Both companies are members of CataloniaBio & HealthTech.

Sergi Aulinas, General Manager of Pharmaceuticals in Spain and Head of Global Business Development at the group, explained to the press that Gebro is strengthening the respiratory area, and has incorporated three Novartis drugs for the treatment of patients with asthma and chronic lung disease. In this sense, the collaboration with HumanITcare is based on monitoring asthma patients in their homes, collecting data on respiratory capacity to share it with medical staff so that they can adjust the treatment.

The project is supported by ACCIÓ with a grant that will allow the pilot test to be carried out to assess whether it is possible to scale it up if it succeeds.
