CataloniaBio & HealthTech has opened the election process to select the chairperson and board of directors of the association for the next four years, as was agreed in the meeting of the board this Friday, 7 January 2022, following the completion of the current Board of directors’ 4 year mandate, as established by the association’s charter.

Those who wish to run for the one Chairperson and 3 Vice-Chair positions have until 17 January to present their candidacy. At minimum, one representative from a biopharmaceutical company and one representative from a medical technology or digital health company must be included. The candidacies are to be presented this coming 24 January, and if there is more than one candidate for the respective positions, the general assembly of members will meet in Barcelona on 24 February to vote.

The new board of directors must be made up of between eight and twelve members depending on the selected candidates and shall be charged with defining the strategic vision of the entity and its position within the ecosystem.

CataloniaBio & HealthTech is the entity that represents biomedicine and healthcare companies in Catalonia. With more than 180 partners, it includes companies with profiles that go from small businesses to SMEs to large corporations that develop products (medicines, medical devices, diagnostic tests, etc.) and provide scientific and non-scientific services, together with entities that generate knowledge, reflecting the multidimensional character of the sector.
