The unsolved clinical needs of Girona's health centres

Comunicació,

As part of the roundtables organized by CataloniaBio & HealthTech within the Girona Talent programme, a Hospital Connection has been launched to identify the unsolved clinical needs of ICS Girona and the Institut d'Assistència Sanitària. The format is an initiative of the internal innovation committee and has already "stopped by" at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona this year. This new event was held on Wednesday, June 12th, at La Farinera Teixidor with clinical professionals from the main healthcare centres in Girona.

The event was structured, as usual, with the presentation of unsolved challenges and solutions in the clinical field, raised directly by healthcare professionals. The aim was to present areas for improvement and propose connections with entrepreneurs who can provide possible solutions. The welcome was given by Àngels Molared (Girona ICS-IAS Manager) and Cristina Adroher (ICS Girona -IAS).

The challenges focused on various aspects. Starting with the geolocation of medical supplies, followed by the need to find digital solutions to the problems of emotional self-control and how to provide remote assistance to patients with anxiety and other associated pathologies. Other challenges highlighted the possibility of developing AI tools for surgical scheduling, or the monitoring of blood loss during water births with the aim of reducing postpartum haemorrhage. The closing challenge focused on the need to configure virtual reality spaces and use gamification tools to support rehabilitation for stroke patients.
