Reig Jofre, member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, has appointed Alex Sanfeliu as Global Head of Pharmaceutical Technologies Business Unit. He has a high responsibility in the commercial and strategic field in the pharmaceutical industry. He has worked in several countries such as the UK, France and Switzerland and has worked for international companies, including Novartis.
Alex Sanfeliu's appointment is part of the 2023-2027 strategic plan, which will involve a phase of international expansion, capitalising on the investments made in production plants.
Reig Jofre is a pharmaceutical company listed on the Spanish stock market. It structures the activity of the Pharmaceutical Technologies unit in the development and specialised manufacture of pharmaceutical products for use in hospital environments. These products are marketed globally through its own network of companies in Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Poland.
The unit incorporating Alex Sanfeliu will contribute 46% of revenues at year-end 2022. In these results, 80% of revenues come from the development and manufacture of proprietary products, manufactured at the sterile and lyophilised injectables plant in Barcelona, as well as at the penicillin-derived antibiotics plants in Toledo. The remaining 20% of revenues are generated through development and manufacturing agreements for third parties. The company also has a plant dedicated to the development and manufacture of topical dermatological products in Malmö, Sweden.
