The DeepTech company Devshealth’s CEO Alfons Nonell-Canals, member of CATALONIA.HEALTH, has been elected as a member of the BEAM Alliance Board of Directors during the recent AMR conference. The BEAM Alliance (Biotechs of Europe Innovating in Anti-Microbial Resistance) is a coalition of innovative European companies dedicated to researching new solutions to combat AMR. Nonell-Canals is also chair of the Internal Digital Committee of CATALONIA.HEALTH.
In addition to Nonell-Canals, the BEAM Alliance Board of Directors also welcomes Eva Rennen, Co-Founder & COO at Nostics, an expert in AI-based diagnostic technologies. The entry of these two new members represents a highly relevant strategic combination: while DevsHealth focuses on developing new treatments against antibiotic-resistant infections, Nostics works to improve the speed and accuracy of diagnosing these infections. This alliance is essential to ensure that new antibiotics and innovative therapies can be administered at the right time to the patients who truly need them, thereby optimizing the global healthcare response to AMR.
The company states that the entry of Nonell-Canals and Rennen into the BEAM Alliance Board represents a great opportunity to bring knowledge, innovation, and a shared vision to the fight against AMR. Their inclusion strengthens the integrated approach that combines precision diagnostics with the development of new treatments, two essential pillars to tackle the antimicrobial resistance crisis. For the company, this step forward reaffirms their commitment to researching and developing innovative solutions to address one of the major public health challenges.
