Hospital Vall d'Hebron and Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, both CataloniaBio & HealthTech members, are among the most specialised hospitals in the world, according to the 'World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2024' and among the smartest, according to the 'World's Best Smart Hospitals 2024', both awarded by Newsweek and Statista.

The ranking of World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2024 features the top 300 hospitals for cardiology and oncology, the top 250 for pediatrics, the top 150 in each specialty of cardiac surgery, endocrinology, and gastroenterology, the top 125 in each for neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology and the top 100 for obstetrics and gynecology.

This title serves centres all over the world to reinforce their reputation as a hospital respected among health professionals and valued by their patients. To compile the list, Newsweek and Statista invited more than 40,000 medical experts - including doctors, hospital directors and health professionals - to participate in online surveys that allowed them to recommend and evaluate various hospitals within their respective specialties. The results of the survey were validated by a world-wide council of renowned medical experts.
