Comunicació,

On 12 and 13 of June, ACESABIO members, of which CATALONIA.HEALTH is a member, met in Vigo at the Galicia Biodays event to discuss the impact of clusters on the development of business competitiveness.

Javier Selva, CEO of CATALONIA.HEALTH, shared a table with Idoia Muñoz, Managing Director of Basque Health Cluster; Zara Pons, Managing Director of BIOIB; and Loli Pereiro, Manager of Bioga. They highlighted strategic lines and initiatives promoted by clusters that help companies to be more competitive. In addition, the Director of ASEBIO, Ion Arocena, has participated in this table, which insisted on the need to work within the framework of European policies to position biotechnology as an essential tool in the economic development landscape.

In addition to this, it was used to analyze different business and sector specialization models that are working in their ecosystems and that impact on fundamental factors of business competitiveness such as talent, investment capture, collaboration with other productive industries and public policy design.

“It is essential to speak in a forum such as Galicia Biodays of the cluster world in the field of health and biosciences, since many of the companies or agents present at the event do not know the capacities and tools that allow them to collaborate and expand their activity, thus improving their competitiveness,” commented Loli Pereiro, manager of BIOGA, hosts of the event.
