CataloniaBio & HealthTech, in collaboration with the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (IRSJD), is organising the ninth Hospital Connection conference under the title "Unresolved clinical needs: the vision of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu". Find your chance! On 9 April at the Auditori Plaza de l'Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.

The aim of this conference is to share different needs identified in one of Catalonia's leading public hospitals in various therapeutic areas. With this objective, experts from the hospital will share their experience and vision of the main challenges and clinical needs that require the development of new technologies and joint hospital-company solutions to reach the patient as soon as possible.

Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (HSJD) has a clear commitment to innovation, which has played a decisive role in its transformation in recent years. Since its creation, the innovation department has had a top-down focus, accompanying the hospital's strategy, and a bottom-up focus, promoting the generation, valorisation and transfer of developed solutions and research results to the market. Its model, based on Open Innovation, aims to identify, and support those unmet clinical needs that improve the health and well-being of patients and their families based on active and transversal collaboration with the actors of the ecosystem (industry, academia, institutions and citizenship) and promoting synergies between public and private entities. To this end, in 2020, the HSJD, through its innovation department, created the i4KIDS Paediatric Innovation Hub, a regional and European network whose mission is to mitigate the great imbalance between the solutions that reach the adult population and those that reach patients in the foetal, paediatric and maternal spheres.
