Ship2B launches 30-million-euro fund to invest in paediatrics

Comunicació,

Ship2B Ventures, a member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, is launching a €30 million fund to invest in European companies in the field of paediatrics. The new fund, in the process of registration at the CNMV, is called Montana Impact Fund and plans to invest in between 16 and 18 companies in the early stages of research.

It’s the first fund to invest in social impact companies in this sector. The fund is for a 10-year period, with five years of investment and five years of disinvestment and arises from the need to improve the quality of life of children and respond to the unresolved medical needs of the youngest.

The biotech entrepreneur and businessman Marc Ramis leads this new fund whose main objective is to get involved in children's health. It’s the first fund to invest in social impact companies in the paediatric sector in Europe.

Ship2B Ventures collaborates with Marc Ramis and the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in Barcelona, also a member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech. Ramis was already involved in the paediatric area of the Hospital in recent years.
