More than 200 people at the 3rd Digital Transformation Conference of the Salut Empordà Foundation

The third edition of the conference "Digital Transformation in Healthcare Organizations. Trends in the Health and Social Sector," organized by the Salut Empordà Foundation (FSE), member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech, on Thursday, November 16th at the Castell de Peralada, brought together over 200 people in person and another hundred following the presentations and roundtable discussions via streaming. The main themes of this year's program focused on data management, cybersecurity, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a new digital tool. 

The conference featured the participation of the president of the PuntCAT Foundation, Genís Roca; the director of the Information Systems Area in the Catalan Health Service, Pol Pérez, to present the cross-functional ICT management structure in healthcare services; representatives from the Innovation Network in Health for Catalonia (XISCAT). An expert panel discussed digital security in the healthcare field, which included the participation of Anna Benavent, Director of Digital Organization at the Parc Taulí University Hospital, also a member of CataloniaBio & HealthTech. 

During the conference, the importance of AI in diagnosing lung cancer through chest X-rays was also addressed. Joan Gibert, an AI expert from the Hospital del Mar-Parc de Salut Mar, presented a project that his center has launched in collaboration with the Salut Empordà Foundation. The morning session dedicated to digital transformation in healthcare organizations was concluded by Sergi Iglesia, Managing Director of FSE, with the presentation of the Digital Transformation Plan 2021-2025 of the Salut Empordà Foundation.
